About WebP to GIF
WebP to GIF helps when an animation saved from a website is a .webp file and the place you want to post it only plays GIFs. Many email clients, forums, older chat apps and presentation tools still treat GIF as the one animated format that always works.
Every frame of the WebP goes into the GIF. Frame rate keeps the original timing unless you pick 10 to 30 frames per second, and Loop forever keeps the animation repeating. Max width, under More options, scales wide animations down to the width you enter; leave it at 0 to keep the original size. GIF can show only 256 colors per frame, so smooth gradients may look a little banded, and the file is usually bigger than the WebP was. For your own website, GIF to WebP does the reverse and makes animations smaller.
How to use WebP to GIF
- 1Upload the WebP animation
Click Choose file or drop the animated .webp onto the page.
- 2Set speed and looping
Leave Frame rate on Keep original or pick a speed, keep or clear Loop forever, and set Max width under More options for a smaller GIF.
- 3Click WebP to GIF
Each frame is reduced to the GIF palette on our server, in an isolated process.
- 4Download the GIF
Save it and post it wherever GIFs play.
Why use Cubfile for this
- All frames carried over
The GIF contains every frame of the WebP; nothing is skipped to save space.
- Playback speed you set
Keep the original timing, or choose 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 frames per second; lower values slow the animation down.
- Size under control
Max width shrinks wide animations while keeping their proportions, which keeps the GIF lighter.
- Endless loop or not
Loop forever is on by default. Turn it off when the animation shouldn't keep repeating.
