Your IP and who owns an address

What Is My IP shows the public IPv4 or IPv6 address websites see as soon as the page opens, with your provider, AS number, reverse DNS and browser details. IP WHOIS Lookup finds the organization, network range and abuse contact behind any public address, straight from the regional registry, and ASN Lookup shows a network's registration and the IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes it announces. IP Location Lookup, for country, region and city, is coming soon.

Is the server reachable

Ping Test times TCP connections from our server to port 443, 80 or another common port, 4, 6 or 8 times, and reports the fastest, average and slowest time and any losses. Open Port Checker tests up to 10 ports at once and flags databases, Redis or Remote Desktop left open to the internet. IPv6 Support Checker looks at AAAA records, an IPv6 connection, and IPv6 on your name and mail servers.

Calculators in your browser

IP Subnet Calculator works out network, broadcast, host range and masks for IPv4 and IPv6, and splits a range into smaller subnets. IP Address Converter switches an address between dotted, integer, hex, octal, binary and IPv6 forms. User Agent Parser reads browser, system, device, in-app browsers and crawlers from one string or a whole list. MAC Address Vendor Lookup is coming soon.

Free, with fair limits

Lookups run on our server when you click, connect only to public internet addresses and don't store results. They don't use your daily tasks. Instead, each visitor has an hourly allowance, higher once you sign in and much higher with VIP. The three calculators run entirely in your browser, upload nothing and keep working offline.

FAQ

IP & Network Tools: questions and answers

Are these IP tools free?
Yes, and none of them needs an account. Lookups don't count toward the daily task limit, only toward an hourly allowance that's higher for signed-in members and VIP. The browser calculators have no limit.
Can I find someone's location from an IP address?
Not precisely. IP WHOIS shows the organization and registered country of an address, and city-level IP Location Lookup is coming soon. Even then, an IP points to a network's area, never to a person or a street address.
Why do ping and port results differ from what I see on my computer?
Those checks run from our server, so they show how the host answers from there. Firewall rules, routing and distance can make a host behave differently for your own connection.
Do you keep the IPs and domains I look up?
No. Each lookup runs when you click and the results aren't stored. The tools only connect to public internet addresses, and private ranges such as 192.168.x.x are refused.
