About HEIC to JPG
HEIC to JPG solves a very common iPhone headache. Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC by default, and a Windows PC without the right extension, an older Android phone or a web form may refuse to open them. JPG opens everywhere.
Upload a .heic or .heif file and you get a standard JPG. The picture comes out the right way up, and with Keep photo info (EXIF) on, the date taken, camera model and location stay in the file, so photo libraries still sort it correctly. Switch that option off to strip those details before posting. The Quality slider starts at 90, a good balance between detail and file size.
How to use HEIC to JPG
- 1Upload the HEIC photo
Click Choose file or drop a .heic or .heif photo on the page, straight from your iPhone or a synced folder.
- 2Choose quality and EXIF
Adjust Quality if you need a lighter file, and leave Keep photo info (EXIF) on or switch it off.
- 3Click HEIC to JPG
The photo is decoded and saved as JPG on our server, in its own isolated process.
- 4Download the JPG
The file keeps its name, so IMG_0421.HEIC becomes IMG_0421.jpg.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Right way up, every time
Photos taken sideways or upside down are turned correctly before they're saved, and the rotation tag is reset so nothing flips twice.
- Date and camera kept
With Keep photo info (EXIF) on, the date taken, the camera and the GPS location travel with the picture.
- Adjustable quality
90 by default. Lower it for a lighter file to email, or raise it toward 100 for prints.
- HEIF files too
Photos with a .heif ending, from Samsung and other phones that use the format, convert the same way.
