About HEIC to PNG
HEIC to PNG gives you an exact, lossless copy of an iPhone photo in a format every editor opens. That matters when the picture is headed for Photoshop, Canva or a collage and will be saved several times along the way. A PNG doesn't pick up new compression artifacts with each save, the way a JPG does.
The photo is turned the right way up during conversion, and Keep photo info (EXIF) carries the date, camera and location over unless you switch it off. One thing to expect: a full-resolution photo saved as PNG is several times bigger than the HEIC. For sharing or emailing, HEIC to JPG gives you a much lighter file.
How to use HEIC to PNG
- 1Choose the HEIC file
Click Choose file or drop a .heic or .heif photo onto the page.
- 2Keep or drop EXIF
Keep photo info (EXIF) starts switched on. Turn it off if the PNG is going somewhere public.
- 3Click HEIC to PNG
We decode the photo and write a lossless PNG in an isolated process on our server.
- 4Download the PNG
Save the file under its original name with a .png ending.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Lossless output
Every pixel of the decoded photo is stored as it is, ready for retouching, cropping or layering.
- Correct orientation
Portrait shots and upside-down photos come out turned the right way.
- EXIF on your terms
Keep the date, camera and GPS location in the PNG, or leave them out with a single switch.
- HEIF photos welcome
Files ending in .heif, as some Android phones save them, are accepted as well.
