To change the text of a PDF, PDF to Word rebuilds paragraphs, tables and page numbers as an editable DOCX, and reads scanned pages with OCR on its own. Figures trapped in a report go to PDF to Excel, merged cells included. When a portal or a client asks for a PDF, Word to PDF keeps fonts, tables and the table of contents where you put them, and the Excel and PowerPoint converters do the same for sheets and slides.

Photos, scans, emails and web pages

JPG to PDF puts receipts, photographed forms and scans into one file, in the order you choose, on A4, Letter or pages sized to each picture. iPhone photos go straight in with HEIC to PDF. HTML to PDF saves a public web page from its address, and Email to PDF keeps an EML message with its sender, date and attachment list.

Out of PDF, into other formats

PDF to JPG saves each page as an image at 72, 150 or 300 DPI, or pulls out the pictures inside. PDFs can also become PNG, TIFF, Markdown, HTML or plain text, and TXT, Markdown, RTF, ODT, CSV and TIFF files can become PDFs. PDF/A, XPS, Pages, Publisher, Visio and PDF to SVG are coming soon.

Is this PDF converter free?
Yes. Without an account you can run 2 conversions, and a free account adds 2 a day for files up to 50 MB. VIP removes the daily limit, accepts files up to 1 GB and converts up to 50 files per task.
Can the PDF converter handle scanned documents?
Yes. On Auto-detect, the default for Recognize text (OCR) in PDF to Word and PDF to Text, scanned pages and pages whose fonts come out as gibberish are read with OCR, while every other page keeps the PDF's own text. OCR reads printed English and Chinese, and with OCR set to Off, PDF to Word keeps a scan as pictures only.
How do I convert a PDF on my phone?
Open this page in your phone's browser, tap Choose files and pick the PDF from Files or Downloads. Choose the format you need, then save the result to your phone when it's ready.
Will my layout change when I convert?
Converting into PDF keeps page size, fonts, tables, headers and page numbers. Converting out of PDF rebuilds text and tables as editable content, so pages with text laid over photos may need some tidying.
What happens to my PDFs once they're converted?
They're deleted automatically one hour after the task, results included. Nobody here opens them, and they're never shared, sold or used to train AI.
