Registration and availability

WHOIS Lookup reads the registry's own record over RDAP, or classic WHOIS for extensions such as .cn, .io and .de, and shows the registrar, registration and expiry dates, status codes in plain words and the name servers. Domain Availability Checker asks the registries whether names are free. Type a bare name like cubfile and it tries .com, .net, .org, .io, .co, .ai, .app, .dev, .me and .xyz in one go.

DNS records and changes

DNS Lookup reads A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, CAA, SRV, PTR, DS, DNSKEY and HTTPS records through the resolver you pick, such as Cloudflare, Google or AliDNS. After you edit a record, DNS Propagation Checker asks 14 public resolvers at once and marks the ones that already return the new value. Reverse DNS Lookup turns IP addresses back into host names and confirms that each name points back to its IP.

Subdomains, DNSSEC and international names

Subdomain Finder lists the subdomains found in public certificate transparency logs, without probing the website. DNSSEC Checker follows the chain of trust from the DS record at the registry to the zone's keys and signatures. Punycode Converter turns names like münchen.de into their xn-- form and back, entirely in your browser.

How the lookups work

Server lookups run the moment you click, reach only public internet addresses and aren't stored. They're free, need no account and don't use your daily tasks. To stop abuse, each visitor has an hourly allowance of lookups, which is higher for signed-in members and much higher for VIP. Result tables can be copied or saved as CSV, and every result can be downloaded as JSON.

FAQ

Domain & DNS Tools: questions and answers

Are these domain and DNS tools free?
Yes. Lookups are free, need no account and don't count toward the daily tasks used for file conversions. Each visitor has an hourly allowance to prevent abuse, higher for signed-in members and much higher for VIP.
Why does WHOIS show redacted data instead of the owner's name?
Most registrars hide personal details for privacy, and many registries no longer publish them. We show what the registry returns, so hidden data stays hidden, while the registrar and abuse contact are usually still listed.
How long does a DNS change take to show up everywhere?
Each resolver keeps the old answer until its cached copy expires, which is set by the record's TTL and is often between five minutes and a day. The DNS Propagation Checker shows which public resolvers already have the new value.
Do you keep a record of the domains I look up?
No. Each lookup runs when you click and the result isn't stored. The last few domains you typed are kept only in your own browser, as shortcuts for running them again.
