About BMP to JPG
BMP to JPG is the quickest way to deal with an oversized bitmap. BMP usually stores every pixel uncompressed, so images from old versions of Paint, legacy software, lab equipment or industrial cameras are huge for what they show. Many websites and chat apps don't accept BMP at all. Other formats that sites turn away, such as HEIC and WebP, have their own tools in Image Converter.
JPG compression brings the file down to a small fraction of its size. The single setting is Quality, 90 by default; lower it for an even lighter file, or keep it high for screenshots with text. The DPI stored in the BMP carries over, and the file keeps its original name with a .jpg ending.
