About Split PDF Pages in Half
Split PDF pages in half when you've scanned a book two pages at a time, received A3 sheets that should be A4, or have a booklet laid out as spreads. Down the middle (left | right) turns each page into a left and a right page, and Across (top / bottom) gives a top and a bottom half. When a scan mixes spreads with single pages such as the cover, tick Only wide pages (single pages stay whole) and only the spreads are cut.
An 8-page booklet stapled in the middle and scanned as spreads gives you 8|1, 2|7, 6|3, 4|5. Tick Scanned booklet: put the pages back in reading order and the halves are sorted into pages 1 to 8. That needs every page cut and a multiple of 4 halves; otherwise the scan order is kept and the result says so. For manga or Arabic books that read right to left, tick Right-to-left order (manga, Arabic) under More options. The cut is always exactly in the middle, so if the spreads sit off-center, trim them with Crop PDF first. Pages are cropped rather than redrawn, which keeps text and scans sharp.

Why use Cubfile for this
- Single pages stay whole
In a scan that mixes spreads and single pages, only the wide pages are cut.
- Booklets back in order
Spreads scanned from a booklet stapled in the middle, 8|1, 2|7 and so on, come out as pages 1, 2, 3 in reading order.
- A3 to A4 in one step
A landscape A3 sheet cut down the middle becomes two A4 pages, and Across splits pages stacked top and bottom.
- Sharp results
Halves are cropped from the original page, not re-rendered, and follow each other in reading order.
