About Remove PDF Annotations
Remove PDF annotations before a reviewed draft goes to the client, or when a document you bought or borrowed is covered in someone else's highlights. Every markup layer in the file is removed, including comments, sticky notes, highlights, underlines, strike-throughs, pen drawings, shapes, free-text boxes and stamps.
Links keep working and fillable form fields stay in place, since they're part of how the document works rather than notes on top of it. The page content underneath is never touched. If the markup was already flattened into the page, it's no longer an annotation, and this tool can't lift it off. The cleaned copy is saved with _clean added.
How to use Remove PDF Annotations
- 1Upload the PDF
Choose the marked-up document, or drop it on the page.
- 2Remove the markup
Click Remove PDF Annotations. There's nothing to configure.
- 3Download the clean copy
Save the file, which now ends in _clean.
Why use Cubfile for this
- All markup in one pass
Comments, notes, highlights, underlines, drawings, shapes and stamps.
- Links keep working
Clickable links are part of the document, so they stay.
- Form fields kept
Fillable fields aren't treated as markup and remain usable.
- Content never touched
Only the annotation layer goes; text and images underneath stay the same.
