About Remove EXIF Data
Remove EXIF data before a photo goes online or to a stranger. Phones write the GPS position where a picture was taken, the date and time, and the camera model into the file, and a photo posted on a forum or sent to an online buyer can reveal your home address. Upload the photos and you get clean copies with that information gone.
For JPG, PNG and WebP, the metadata is cut out of the file directly, so the image data is not recompressed and quality stays exactly the same. EXIF, XMP, IPTC and comments go, while the color profile stays, so colors look unchanged. Keep the rotation info is on by default so photos still show the right way up. HEIC and TIFF files are saved again without metadata.
How to use Remove EXIF Data
- 1Add your photos
Choose or drop JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC or TIFF files. A whole album works.
- 2Keep or drop rotation
Leave Keep the rotation info ticked unless you want every tag gone.
- 3Remove EXIF data
Click Remove EXIF Data and the clean copies are made.
- 4Download clean files
Each file ends in _clean, and several come together in clean_photos.zip.
Why use Cubfile for this
- No recompression
JPG, PNG and WebP pixels are untouched, and only the metadata blocks are removed.
- Location, camera and date gone
GPS coordinates, device model, timestamps, XMP and IPTC data are stripped.
- Right way up
An optional minimal rotation tag keeps portrait photos from turning sideways.
- Colors unchanged
The embedded color profile is kept, so the photo looks identical.
