About Compress Image to KB
Reduce image size in KB when a website sets a hard limit: an exam registration that wants a photo under 50 KB, a job portal that caps uploads at 100 KB, or a visa form with its own size window. Type the target size and we try quality settings until we find the highest one that still fits, so the photo looks as good as the limit allows.
If even the lowest usable quality is too big, the image is scaled down step by step until it fits. Untick Allow smaller dimensions if needed when the pixel size must stay fixed. Results are saved as JPG by default or as WebP. Transparent areas become white, and photo info is dropped to save space.
How to use Compress Image to KB
- 1Upload your photo
Pick one or more JPG, PNG or WebP photos, and each one gets the same target.
- 2Enter the target size
Type the limit in Target size, in KB, and pick JPG, WebP or Same format under Save as.
- 3Compress to KB
Click Compress Image to KB. We test quality settings until the file lands at or just under your number.
- 4Download and upload
The file name ends in the target, such as photo_50kb.jpg, and the result shows the final size.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Best quality under the limit
Quality is searched between high and low settings, and the highest one that fits is kept instead of a fixed guess.
- Shrinks dimensions only if needed
When quality alone can't get there, the picture is scaled down in steps. Turn this off to keep the exact pixel size.
- One target for a batch
Add a set of photos and each one is compressed to the size you entered.
- Clear message if impossible
A tiny target for a huge photo may not be reachable while staying readable, and the page says so instead of handing you a blurry mess.
