About QR Code Scanner
Use this QR code scanner when you can't point a camera at the code: it's in a screenshot on the same phone, on an e-invoice, a ticket or a letter saved as a PDF, on a web page you're viewing on a laptop, or in a photo you took earlier. Upload several pictures or PDFs at once, or copy a screenshot and paste it with Ctrl + V. Every QR code and common barcode is read, several in one picture and on the first 30 pages of a PDF. If the first pass finds nothing, the image is tried again enlarged, reduced, with boosted contrast and with a white margin added, which helps with tiny, faded or edge-cut codes.
Each code is shown in plain words. A Wi-Fi code gives the network name, the password and the security type, ready to copy; a contact card its name, phone, e-mail and company; a calendar event its title, start and place; and phone numbers, text messages, e-mail addresses and map locations appear as what they are. A link shows the website it goes to, with a warning when it isn't encrypted (http), goes to a bare IP address, is a shortened link that hides the real address, uses look-alike letters that may imitate a known site, or hides its destination after an "@". Payment codes are flagged too, from WeChat Pay and Alipay to Brazil's Pix and other bank and merchant QR codes in the EMV format, and Russia's SBP payment links, so you check the payee in your payment app before paying. When more than one code is found, they're also listed in a CSV file with the file, page, type, kind and content. Codes of your own can be made with the QR Code Generator.
