About Protect PowerPoint
Password protect PowerPoint decks that aren't meant for everyone: a pitch with this year's numbers, a product roadmap, a board presentation that goes out a day early. Upload the PPTX, type a password twice and download an encrypted copy that PowerPoint opens only after the password is entered. A deck too big to email can be shrunk with Compress PowerPoint first, then protected.
The deck is encrypted with AES-256, the method PowerPoint itself uses for Encrypt with Password, so the recipient needs nothing extra. Slides, notes, pictures and media are all inside the encrypted file. We use your password only while the task runs and delete it from our records afterwards. A lost password can't be recovered by anyone.
How to use Protect PowerPoint
- 1Upload the PPTX
Click Choose file or drop your presentation on the page.
- 2Choose a password
Type it in Set a password, then again in Repeat password.
- 3Click Protect PowerPoint
The deck is encrypted in an isolated process. A PPTX that already has a password is refused.
- 4Send it on
Download the copy ending in _protected.pptx and share the password separately, for example in a call.
Why use Cubfile for this
- PowerPoint's own encryption
AES-256 as used by PowerPoint on Windows and Mac, so no special viewer is needed.
- Nothing readable without it
Slides, speaker notes, pictures and embedded media are all encrypted.
- No copy of your password
It's deleted from our records the moment the task ends.
- A new file for sharing
The encrypted deck is saved as a separate _protected file, so your working copy stays open.
