About PDF to PDF/A
PDF to PDFA is for documents that have to stay readable for many years, such as court filings, tender documents, theses, contracts and records sent to an archive or a government portal. Many of these systems reject an ordinary PDF and ask specifically for PDF/A, the ISO standard for long-term storage. A thesis or contract that's still in Word goes through Word to PDF first, then comes here.
Pick the version the recipient asks for. PDF/A-2b is the recommended default and suits most portals. PDF/A-1b is the older version some systems still require, and PDF/A-3b allows other files to be attached inside the PDF. After conversion the file is validated, so you know it meets the version you chose before you submit it. For paper records, scan them and combine the images into one file with JPG to PDF before converting.

Why use Cubfile for this
- Three PDF/A versions
PDF/A-2b (recommended), PDF/A-1b for older systems and PDF/A-3b with attachments.
- Validated after conversion
The result is checked against the version you chose, so a portal is less likely to bounce it.
- Made for archives
PDF/A is the ISO standard that archives, courts and public bodies use for long-term records.
