About PDF to Word
PDF to Word helps when a contract needs one more clause, your CV only exists as a PDF, or the figures in a report have changed. Upload the file and you get a DOCX that opens in Microsoft Word or WPS. Paragraphs keep their fonts, sizes, colours and spacing, tables keep merged cells and shading, and pictures stay in place. For tables you want to calculate with, PDF to Excel is the better fit.
Headings become real Word headings, so the navigation pane works, and a footer such as "Page 3 of 10" turns into live page numbers. Recognize text (OCR) is on Auto-detect by default: scanned pages and pages whose fonts come out as gibberish are read with OCR, and every other page keeps the PDF's own text and layout, so a typed contract with scanned signature pages converts in one go. Always reads every page with OCR, Off reads none, and OCR reads printed English and Chinese. Free accounts get OCR on a limited number of pages per file, and past that the scanned pages stay pictures and the result says how many weren't read, while VIP reads any length. Keep page breaks, on by default, starts every PDF page on a new page in Word, and Pages converts only the pages you list.
How to use PDF to Word
- 1Upload your PDF
Click Choose file or drop the PDF on the page. Free accounts can upload up to 50 MB, VIP up to 1 GB.
- 2Check the options
Leave Recognize text (OCR) on Auto-detect and Keep page breaks on to match the original pages, and fill in Pages if you only need some of them.
- 3Click PDF to Word
The layout is analysed on our server in an isolated process and rebuilt as a Word document.
- 4Download the DOCX
The file keeps the name of your PDF, so report.pdf comes back as report.docx.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Paragraphs, not text boxes
Text flows in real paragraphs with the original alignment, indents and line spacing, so editing one line doesn't break the page.
- Tables rebuilt as tables
Merged cells, shading and column widths come across, and a bold or shaded header row repeats on each new page.
- Headers, footers, page numbers
Running headers and footers land in the header and footer of the Word file, with page numbers as fields that update themselves.
- OCR for scanned PDFs
Scanned pages and pages of gibberish fonts are read with OCR automatically, while pages with real text keep their layout.
