About Excel to Markdown Table
Excel to Markdown saves you from typing pipes and dashes by hand when a table has to go into a README, a GitHub issue, an Obsidian note, a static site or technical docs. Upload an XLSX, XLS or CSV file and each sheet comes back as a Markdown table, with the first row as the header.
Choose Left, Center or Numbers right, text left under Column alignment and the separator row is written to match. Pipe characters inside cells are escaped, line breaks become
so rows don't split, and dates come out as 2024-03-01. Workbooks with several sheets get a ## heading per sheet. Copy the result from the text box or download the .md file.

Why use Cubfile for this
- Alignment you choose
The :--- separators are written for left, centred or right-aligned number columns.
- Safe cell content
Pipes are escaped and line breaks become
, so no row breaks the table.
- Every sheet, clearly labelled
Several sheets become several tables, each under a heading with the sheet name.
- Works with CSV too
Drop a .csv export and get the same clean Markdown table.
