About EPUB to AZW3
EPUB to AZW3 is for putting DRM-free books on a Kindle without email: copy the file over USB and it shows up in your library, with no Send to Kindle address and no cloud upload. AZW3, also called KF8, is Amazon's newer Kindle format, and it keeps more of a book's layout than the old MOBI, such as embedded fonts, better tables and richer styling. To move a DRM-free AZW3 back to EPUB later, use AZW3 to EPUB.
Upload the .epub, download the .azw3, connect the Kindle and drop the file into its documents folder. It's a good route for books from DRM-free shops, public-domain libraries or your own writing. Books with DRM can't be converted.
