About TXT to EPUB
TXT to EPUB is for the long plain-text books that are painful to read as one giant file: web novels, public-domain classics, fan fiction, notes collected over years. Upload the .txt and get a web novel with the site's adverts and its own contents list gone. Lines the website slipped into the story, such as 本章未完,请点击下一页 (continued on the next page), (本章完), update banners and bare web addresses, are left out, and the result says how many went. The Project Gutenberg licence around a Gutenberg book goes too. Volumes and chapters land in a contents list you can tap, and a cover sits on your shelf instead of a grey placeholder. The reverse, pulling the text out of an EPUB, is what EPUB to TXT does.
Chapter titles are found in 25 languages, from Chapter 12, Part Two and Prologue to 第十二章, 卷三 and 番外, with each volume's chapters listed under it. Texts wrapped at a fixed width, like Project Gutenberg's 70-character lines, get their paragraphs back, with words hyphenated at a line end made whole. Title and author are read from the first lines (《书名》, 作者:…, Title:, Author:) unless you type them, and Cover makes a clean cover from them at 1600 × 2560 px, the size Kindle and Apple Books ask for, or uses a picture of your own. The book's language is read from its text, so the reader's fonts, hyphenation and dictionary follow it, and Paragraphs sets the text indented like a printed book or spaced apart. GBK, Big5, Shift-JIS and UTF-16 files are decoded automatically, and Chinese characters under More options turns Traditional into Simplified or back. Several TXT files become One book, a part per file, named after what the file names share. For a book whose chapter titles aren't found by themselves, Chapters start with makes every line beginning with your word a chapter. Chapters start with and A book for each file are VIP choices. To read it on a Kindle, Convert for Kindle prepares the EPUB for your model.
