About Word to EPUB
Word to EPUB is for authors, teachers and small publishers who write in Word but want a real e-book: a novel for beta readers, a course handbook, a family history, a short story collection. Upload the .docx and you get a book that looks finished on a reader: a cover on the shelf, chapters cut at the headings your document uses, sections under their chapters in a contents list you can tap, and footnotes you tap to read and tap again to get back. The document's own contents page is left out, since the e-book has a real one. To revise a finished e-book later, EPUB to Word turns it back into an editable document.
Chapters start at picks where chapters begin: The document's main headings by default, Heading 1, or Heading 1 and Heading 2 for chapters with sections. A tall picture opening the document becomes the cover; otherwise Cover makes a clean one from the title and author at 1600 × 2560 px, the size Kindle and Apple Books ask for, or uses a picture of your own. Title and Author come from what you type, else from the file's properties, and default names like Administrator aren't credited as the author. Bold and italic text, lists, tables and pictures come across, big pictures sized for a reader and each stored once, while Word's fonts and page layout stay behind on purpose. The book's language is read from its text, and Paragraphs sets it indented like a printed book or spaced apart. Several documents become one book, a part per file. A book for each file is a VIP choice. DOC, ODT and RTF files work too.
How to use Word to EPUB
- 1Style your chapter titles
In Word, give each chapter title a heading style such as Heading 1 or Heading 2; text that's only big and bold won't start a chapter.
- 2Upload the document
Choose or drop your .docx, or the files of several chapters at once; .doc, .odt and .rtf work as well.
- 3Check the book's details
Leave Title and Author empty to use the file's own, pick a Cover and where Chapters start at, then click Word to EPUB.
- 4Download the EPUB
Open it in Apple Books or on a Kobo, or send it to your Kindle, and tap through the contents.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Chapters from your headings
Main headings, Heading 1, or Headings 1 and 2 mark the chapters, with sections listed under them.
- A cover on the shelf
A picture opening the document, a clean cover made from the title and author, or a picture of your own.
- Footnotes you can tap
Footnotes and endnotes become a Notes chapter, linked both ways, even across chapters.
- Your title and author
Typed, or taken from the file's properties, without crediting Administrator as the author.
