About SMI to SRT
SMI to SRT is for SAMI subtitles, the format that came with Windows Media Player and is still common for Korean dramas and films. Many modern players, TVs and editing apps don't read .smi, or show its HTML-like tags as text, while SRT is the format they handle reliably. Upload one .smi or a whole season of them and download numbered SRTs, one per episode and all of them in one ZIP.
Each SYNC point becomes a subtitle that lasts until the next one, and the blank lines SAMI inserts to clear the screen end the previous subtitle at the right moment. Line breaks, italics, bold, underline and font colours are kept as SRT tags. Korean files in EUC-KR are detected automatically. When a file contains two languages, the first one in the file is used. Under More options, Fix overlapping and too-short subtitles keeps every line up for at least 0.7 s and ends it before the next, and Bilingual subtitles: keep can drop the Korean or the English lines from subtitles that hold both.

Why use Cubfile for this
- Timing that matches
Each subtitle ends exactly when the next SYNC point or a blank clearing line begins.
- Korean encodings handled
EUC-KR and CP949 files are recognised, so Hangul doesn't turn into gibberish.
- A whole season at once
Every episode's SMI converts in one task, each to its own SRT, with a ZIP of the set.
- Basic styling kept
Italic, bold, underline and font colours carry over as SRT tags, saved as UTF-8, UTF-8 with BOM or UTF-16.
