Open Graph Checker and Social Share Preview

Preview how a link looks when shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, X and WeChat, and see what's missing.

About Open Graph Checker

When a shared link shows the wrong picture, no picture or a cut-off title, the Open Graph tags are usually to blame. Use the Open Graph checker before a launch or campaign, after changing a page's main image, or when someone says your link looks broken in a chat. Enter the URL and click Check.

The checker reads every og: and twitter: tag, loads the og:image from our server to measure it, and draws the card as it would look on Facebook and LinkedIn, on X (Twitter) and in WeChat. It checks that og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url and og:type are present, that the image loads, that it's at least 1200 × 600 pixels with a ratio near 1.91:1 and under about 5 MB, that twitter:card is set and that the title isn't too long. A table lists every social tag for copying or export. Write missing tags with the Open Graph Generator.

FAQ

Open Graph Checker: questions and answers

What size should an Open Graph image be?
1200 × 630 pixels, a ratio of about 1.91:1, works well on Facebook, LinkedIn and X. Keep the file well under 5 MB so it loads quickly.
I fixed the tags, so why does Facebook still show the old card?
Social networks cache link previews. Ask the platform to fetch the page again, for example with Facebook's Sharing Debugger, and the new tags will be used.
Do I need Twitter card tags if I have Open Graph?
X reads the Open Graph title, description and image when Twitter tags are missing, but twitter:card sets the card type, such as a large image or a small summary. The checker notes when it's missing.
Why is my share image marked as broken?
The image address answered with an error or couldn't be loaded. Use a full https:// address that opens in a browser and isn't blocked for bots. The Robots.txt Tester shows whether a robots.txt rule blocks the image address for a given crawler.
Is the Open Graph checker free?
Yes, with no sign-up, and it doesn't use your daily tasks. The page and image are fetched when you click, and nothing is stored.
Share Open Graph Checker with a friendIt runs in any browser, and they can try it without signing up.
