About Open Graph Generator

Open Graph tags decide what people see when your link is pasted into a chat or a social post: the title, a short description and the picture. Without them, apps have to guess, which often means the wrong image or none at all. This Open Graph generator covers og:title, description, image with its width, height and alt text, url, type (website, article, product, video, profile or book), site_name and locale. Search results use a separate title and description, which the Meta Tag Generator writes.

For X, choose a summary card with a small thumbnail or summary_large_image with a wide picture, and add the twitter:site and twitter:creator handles. Previews for Facebook, X and WeChat update as you type, and the image is loaded from its URL, so a wrong address shows up straight away. Copy the HTML into the head of your page, then test the published page with the Open Graph Checker. The tags are built in your browser, and nothing you type is uploaded. To see which shares bring visitors, tag the shared link with the UTM Link Builder.

FAQ

Open Graph Generator: questions and answers

What size should an og:image be?
1200 × 630 pixels, a 1.91:1 ratio, is what Facebook recommends, and it suits large cards elsewhere too. Use a full https:// address and keep the file well under 5 MB.
What's the difference between summary and summary_large_image?
summary shows a small square thumbnail beside the title, while summary_large_image shows a wide image above it. Choose the large card when the picture carries the message.
Do I need Twitter Card tags if I already have Open Graph?
X falls back to og:title, og:description and og:image, but it needs twitter:card to know which card to show. That's one extra line.
Why does Facebook still show my old image?
Facebook caches link previews. After changing the tags, open Facebook's Sharing Debugger and scrape the URL again to refresh the card.
Is anything I enter uploaded?
No. The tags are generated in your browser, free and without limits. The only request is your browser loading the image from the URL you entered, for the previews.
