IndexNow URL Submitter

Tell Bing, Yandex and other IndexNow search engines about new or changed pages.

About IndexNow URL Submitter

IndexNow lets you tell participating search engines the moment a page is added, updated or deleted, instead of waiting for them to crawl. Use this IndexNow URL submitter after publishing articles, changing prices or removing products, especially when your CMS has no IndexNow plugin. Enter your site, your key and the URLs, one per line, and click Submit URLs.

No key yet? Click Generate for a random 32-character key, made in your browser, then download the key file and upload it to your site's root. If the file lives elsewhere, fill in Key file address. Before sending, we check that the file contains the key, then post the list to api.indexnow.org, which shares it with Bing, Yandex, Seznam, Naver and others. You see the engine's answer: 200 or 202 accepted, 400 bad request, 403 key not valid, 422 URLs that don't match the host or key, or 429 too many requests. Each submission takes up to 100 URLs, 500 for members or 10,000 for VIP, all on one host. Google and Baidu don't support IndexNow.

FAQ

IndexNow URL Submitter: questions and answers

Does Google support IndexNow?
No, and neither does Baidu. For Google, keep your sitemap up to date and submit it in Google Search Console. Baidu has its own push API in Baidu Search Resource Platform. Before you submit the sitemap, run it through the Sitemap Checker to catch errors.
What should the IndexNow key file contain?
Only the key itself, as plain text, in a file named after the key, for example https://example.com/<key>.txt. A key is 8 to 128 letters, digits and dashes.
What does a 202 response mean?
The URLs were received and the key is still being validated, while 200 means they were accepted. Neither guarantees indexing. They only confirm that the engines got the list. To rule out problems on the page itself, such as noindex or a canonical pointing elsewhere, run the Indexability Checker.
Why do I get 403 or 422?
403 means the key isn't valid, usually because the key file is missing or contains something else. 422 means some URLs don't belong to the host, or the key doesn't match.
How many URLs can I submit?
Up to 100 per submission without an account, 500 for signed-in members and 10,000 for VIP. Addresses on other hosts are left out and listed.
