About Image Alt Text Checker
Alt text describes an image to screen reader users and to search engines, image search included. Run the image alt text checker on product pages, galleries and blog posts, especially after a bulk upload, when alt text is easy to skip. Enter the URL and click Check.
Every <img> on the page is listed, including lazy-loaded images that keep their address in data-src, with a thumbnail, the alt text and a state: missing, empty (fine for decorative images), looks like a file name such as IMG_1234.jpg, too long (over 150 characters) or OK. The table also shows the width and height attributes and the loading attribute, handy when you're checking layout shift and lazy loading. Filter the table and save it as CSV for whoever writes the descriptions. The check runs on our server, and nothing is stored. For a wider audit, run the SEO Checker.
