About Zip Files
The quickest way to send ten attachments as one is to zip them into a single file online, right here in your browser. It also helps when a form accepts a single upload and you have a stack of scans. The ZIP is built on your device and the files are never uploaded, so it's quick even on a slow connection and nothing is left on a server afterwards.
Add files in as many rounds as you like, remove any you picked by mistake and name the ZIP before you download it. Files that compress well, like TXT, CSV, logs or BMP images, get smaller. Photos, videos, PDFs and DOCX files are already compressed, so they're stored as they are. Names are saved in UTF-8, so any language survives, and each file keeps its original date.
How to use Zip Files
- 1Choose your files
Click Choose files or drop them on the page. They stay on your device the whole time.
- 2Add or remove files
Use Add files to zip files from other folders too, and the × next to a file to take it off the list.
- 3Name the ZIP
Type a name in the ZIP name box. With a single file, it's filled in with that file's name.
- 4Create and save
Click Create ZIP. Your browser builds the archive, downloads it and shows the final size.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Nothing leaves your device
Your browser reads and packs the files. No upload, no copy on a server, no waiting in a queue.
- Doesn't use your daily tasks
Browser tools don't count toward the free daily limit, so you can make as many ZIPs as you need.
- Compression where it helps
Plain text and other compressible files shrink, while JPG, MP4, PDF and similar formats are stored as-is to save time.
- Clean names and dates
File names are saved in UTF-8, dates are kept, and a second report.pdf becomes report (2).pdf instead of overwriting the first.
