About Unzip Online
Unzip online when the device you're using can't open an archive, or you'd rather not install an app for a single file. It works on a phone, on a Chromebook and on a work PC where you can't add software. Upload a ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ or ISO file and you get a list of everything inside; download single files or all of them as one ZIP.
Locked archives open with their password, AES-encrypted ZIPs included. File names from Chinese, Japanese or Taiwanese Windows PCs, which often turn into gibberish on other systems, come out readable. Paths that try to escape the folder are skipped, and archives that would unpack to an absurd size are stopped.
How to use Unzip Online
- 1Upload the archive
Click Choose file or drop a ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ or ISO file on the page. Free accounts can upload up to 50 MB, VIP up to 1 GB.
- 2Enter the password, if any
For a locked archive, open More options and type its password. Otherwise leave the box empty.
- 3Click Unzip Online
The archive is opened in an isolated process on our server, and its contents appear as a list.
- 4Save what you need
Download files one by one, or grab everything at once with Download all (ZIP).
Why use Cubfile for this
- Nine archive formats
ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZ, TGZ, BZ2, XZ and ISO all open on the same page.
- Password-protected archives
Classic ZIP passwords, AES-encrypted ZIPs and locked RAR or 7Z files open once you enter the password.
- Garbled file names fixed
Names that older Windows zip tools saved in GBK, Big5 or Shift_JIS are detected and shown in the right characters.
- Safe extraction
Entries with paths like ../ or C:\ are skipped, and zip bombs are stopped instead of filling up the disk.
