Old Photo Restoration helps you restore old photos, bringing damaged prints back to a presentable state. Scan or photograph the picture, upload it, and the AI repairs scratches and stains and sharpens areas that have gone soft with age, leaving the people and places as they were. For newer photos that are simply blurry, the AI Photo Enhancer is the better fit.

Tick Add color to colorize a black-and-white photo in the same pass, or leave it off to keep the original tones. Scans in JPG, PNG, WebP or TIFF work. For the best result, scan the print at a high resolution and without glare. Where parts of the picture are missing entirely, the AI fills them with a plausible guess, so keep the original scan alongside the restored copy.

How should I scan photos for Old Photo Restoration?
Use a flatbed scanner at 600 DPI or more if you can, or photograph the print flat, in daylight and without glare. The more detail in the scan, the more the AI has to work with.
Can Old Photo Restoration fix a torn photo?
Tears and scratches can be repaired. If a piece of the picture is missing, the AI fills it in with its best guess, which may not match what was really there.
Should I tick Add color when I restore old photos?
Tick it if you want a color version. The AI picks natural-looking colors, but it can't know the real color of a dress or a car, so a black-and-white restoration is worth keeping too. For a photo that needs no repair, Colorize Photo adds color and lets you set the saturation.
How much does restoring a photo cost?
Your daily free AI task covers one restoration job, with scans up to 50 MB. VIP plans include a monthly allowance of AI credits and take scans up to 1 GB.
Are my family photos safe?
Yes. Scans travel over HTTPS, are restored in an isolated process and are deleted automatically after one hour. Nobody here looks at them, and they're never used for AI training.
