About Image Describer

The Image Describer turns a picture into words, from an AI image prompt to alt text. Upload a photo, a chart, a product shot or a piece of art and choose from alt text for a website or document, a caption for a post, a prompt to recreate the style with an AI image generator, or a detailed description.

Write it in picks the output language, so the text can come out in English, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese and many other languages. Alt text helps people using screen readers and gives search engines context for the image. AI can miss small details or misread text in a picture, so read the result before you publish it, especially alt text for important content.

What's the difference between alt text and a caption in the Image Describer?
Alt text is a short, factual description that screen readers read aloud and browsers show when an image fails to load. A caption is written for readers, to sit next to the image in a post or article.
Can the Image Describer write prompts for AI image generators?
Yes, choose An AI image prompt. You get a description of the subject and style that you can paste into AI Image Generator or another tool.
Is the description always right?
AI can miss small details or misread text in a picture. Treat the result as a draft, and check names, numbers and anything important before it goes live. For the exact wording of text in a picture, use Image to Text (OCR).
How many images can I describe for free?
One a day on a free account, with images up to 50 MB. VIP plans come with a monthly allowance of AI credits for regular use.
Are my images stored or used for training?
No. Images are analyzed in an isolated process after an encrypted upload and deleted automatically after one hour. They're never used to train AI.
