About DXF to PDF
DXF to PDF is handy when a drawing comes from a program other than AutoCAD. Fusion 360, SolidWorks, LibreCAD and Inkscape can all save DXF, but the people who review a part, such as a customer or a workshop, usually just want a PDF. Upload the .dxf and we render it as a PDF you can print or attach to a quote. If a picture works better than a PDF, DWG to JPG takes DXF files too and saves them as JPG or PNG.
For a sheet that prints clearly, set Colors to Black lines or Grayscale. The page can match the drawing exactly with Fit the drawing, or be a standard sheet from A4 to A0. If the DXF has layouts, switch What to print to Every layout to include them; otherwise model space is printed.
How to use DXF to PDF
- 1Add your DXF file
Choose the .dxf or drag it onto the page. It uploads over an encrypted connection.
- 2Set colors and paper
Pick Color, Black lines or Grayscale, a background color and a paper size. Zoom to fit the whole drawing stays on unless you untick it.
- 3Press DXF to PDF
Our server renders the drawing in a separate, isolated process.
- 4Save the PDF
Download it, print it, or send it along with your quote or purchase order.
Why use Cubfile for this
- DXF from many programs
DXF is the exchange format CAD programs share, so exports from very different tools can be printed the same way.
- Black lines for the workshop
Every colored line turns black, so thin cyan or yellow strokes stay visible on a printout.
- Paper up to A0
A4 for a quick check, A1 or A0 for a full-size plot, or a page that follows the drawing's extents.
- Nothing cut off
Zoom to fit the whole drawing keeps every part of the geometry on the page, in whatever view the file was saved.
