About DWG to PDF
Convert DWG to PDF when a drawing has to reach someone without AutoCAD: a client signing off a floor plan, a contractor checking a detail on a phone, or a print shop that only accepts PDF. Upload the .dwg and choose what to print. Model space gives you the drawing itself, while Every layout also outputs the sheets you set up for plotting, title blocks and viewports included. A .dxf file goes through DXF to PDF, which has the same options.
Colors can stay as drawn, turn into black lines for a crisp printout, or go grayscale. For paper, Fit the drawing sizes the page to the geometry, or you can pick a sheet from A4 up to A0. Zoom to fit the whole drawing is on by default, so a file saved zoomed in on one corner still comes out complete.
How to use DWG to PDF
- 1Upload the DWG file
Click Choose file or drop the .dwg on the page. If the drawing uses xrefs, bind them first, since only the file you upload is converted.
- 2Choose what to print
Pick Model space or Every layout, then set Colors, Background color and Paper.
- 3Click DWG to PDF
Your drawing is rendered to PDF on our server, in an isolated process of its own.
- 4Download the PDF
It opens in any browser or PDF reader, so the person you send it to needs no CAD software.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Model space or every layout
Print just the drawing, or every layout tab with its title block, ready for review or plotting.
- Colors that hold up on paper
Keep the original colors, switch to Black lines so pale yellow or cyan lines don't disappear, or choose Grayscale.
- Sheets from A4 to A0
Pick a standard ISO size, or Fit the drawing to get a page cut exactly around the geometry.
- Background color you choose
White is the default. Set it to black if you want the PDF to look like the AutoCAD screen.
