About RAR to ZIP
Use this RAR to ZIP converter when a download or an email attachment arrives as a .rar file and the device in front of you can't open it. Macs, iPhones, many Android phones and older Windows PCs need an extra app for RAR, and a work laptop may not let you install one. ZIP, on the other hand, opens with the tools every system already has. We unpack the RAR on our server and pack the same files and folders into a standard ZIP. TAR.GZ and ISO files are handled by the other archive converters.
If the RAR is locked, enter its password and we'll use it to open the archive. You can also set the ZIP compression, from No compression for speed to Maximum for the smallest file. Uploads travel over HTTPS and are deleted automatically after one hour.
How to use RAR to ZIP
- 1Upload the RAR file
Click Choose file or drop the .rar on the page. Free accounts can convert files up to 50 MB, VIP up to 1 GB.
- 2Add the password if needed
Open More options and type the archive password if the RAR is locked. The ZIP compression level is there too.
- 3Click RAR to ZIP
The button starts the job. Your archive is unpacked and repacked on our server in its own isolated process.
- 4Download your ZIP
Save the new file when it's ready. It opens with a double-click on Windows and Mac.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Opens on almost any device
ZIP works with the tools already on Windows, Mac, iPhone and most Android phones, so whoever gets the file doesn't need WinRAR.
- Works with password-protected RARs
Enter the original password and we can open the archive for conversion. Without the right password, a locked RAR stays locked for everyone.
- Pick your compression
Choose No compression, Fast, Normal or Maximum to trade speed for size.
- Deleted after one hour
Your RAR travels over HTTPS, is handled in an isolated process and is erased automatically after an hour. We never look at, share or sell your files.
