Check Domain Name Availability Online

Type a name or paste a list to see which domains are still free to register.

About Domain Availability Checker

Check domain availability while you brainstorm a brand name, before a name goes on packaging, or when you want the same name on several extensions. Type a bare name such as cubfile and it's checked on 10 popular extensions: .com, .net, .org, .io, .co, .ai, .app, .dev, .me and .xyz. Or paste full domains, one per line. Each check takes up to 20 domains without an account, 50 for free members and 100 for VIP, and a bare name counts as 10.

Every name goes to its own registry, over RDAP, where a 404 answer means nobody holds it, or over WHOIS. Each result says Available, Taken with its expiry date, or Unknown when the registry doesn't answer. Available means the registry has no record of the name. Premium and reserved names look the same from outside, so the registrar shows the final price. We don't register domains and we don't sell your searches. To see the registrar and status of a taken name, run a WHOIS Lookup.

Why use Cubfile for this

  • 10 extensions in one go

A bare name is tried on .com, .net, .org, .io, .co, .ai, .app, .dev, .me and .xyz.

  • Straight from the registry

RDAP where the registry offers it and WHOIS otherwise, not a stale list.

  • Bulk checking

Up to 20 domains per check, 50 as a free member and 100 with VIP.

  • Your searches aren't for sale

We don't register domains, and we don't sell the names you look up.

FAQ

Domain Availability Checker: questions and answers

How do I check if a domain name is available?
Type the name and click Check availability. Available means the registry has no record of it, and Taken shows when the current registration expires. To see whether a taken name points anywhere, run a DNS Lookup on it.
Why is a domain shown as available when my registrar charges much more for it?
Premium and reserved names look like free ones from outside. The registrar shows the final price, and some reserved names can't be registered at all.
How many domains can I check at once?
Up to 20 per check without an account, 50 as a free member and 100 with VIP. A bare name counts as 10, one for each extension tried.
What does Unknown mean in a domain availability check?
The registry didn't answer in time, or it offers no public lookup for that extension. Try again in a minute, or check the name at a registrar.
Could checking a name lead someone else to register it?
We don't register domains and don't sell your searches. Each name is sent to its registry to ask the question, and the result isn't stored.
