About Text Compare
Text compare is for the moment you have two versions and need to know exactly what changed: a contract clause edited by the other side, two drafts of an essay, config files from two servers, or a translation that was quietly updated. Paste the original on the left and the new version on the right, or open a file on each side, and click Compare.
Changed lines are paired up and the exact words that differ are highlighted, so a single swapped number in a long paragraph is easy to spot. Switch between Side by side and Inline, and tick Ignore case or Ignore spaces to skip changes that don't matter. A summary counts added, removed and changed lines. Both texts stay in your browser.
How to use Text Compare
- 1Paste both versions
Put the original in Original text and the new version in Changed text, or use Open file on each side.
- 2Set what to ignore
Tick Ignore case or Ignore spaces if capitals or extra spaces shouldn't count as changes.
- 3Run the text compare
Click Compare or press Ctrl + Enter. Swap reverses the direction.
- 4Review the changes
Read them side by side or inline, with the changed words highlighted.
Why use Cubfile for this
- Word-level highlights
Inside a changed line, only the words that differ are marked, and Chinese is compared character by character.
- Two views
Side by side with line numbers for long documents, or Inline for phones.
- Ignore case and spaces
Hide noise such as re-capitalized headings or changed indentation.
- Change summary
See at a glance how many lines were added, removed and changed, or that the texts are identical.
