About MAC Address Vendor Lookup

MAC Address Vendor Lookup is coming soon. It will read the first half of a MAC address, the OUI that the IEEE assigns to each manufacturer, and tell you which company made the network hardware, so an unknown device in your router's client list, a DHCP lease table or a switch's address table gets a name. It needs the IEEE OUI table, which is why it isn't open yet. In the meantime, the other IP and network tools here, such as What Is My IP and the Open Port Checker, are ready to use.

How to use MAC Address Vendor Lookup

  1. 1
    Find the MAC address

Copy it from your router's client list, a DHCP lease table or the device's network settings.

  2. 2
    Paste it in

Once the tool opens, paste the address into the box.

  3. 3
    Read the vendor

The manufacturer registered for that address prefix will be shown.

  • Free lookups

Like the other lookups here, it won't need an account or use your daily tasks.

FAQ

MAC Address Vendor Lookup: questions and answers

When will the MAC address lookup be ready?
It opens once the IEEE OUI table it depends on is in place. Until then, the other IP and network tools on this site work as usual.
Why might a phone's MAC address show no vendor?
Phones and laptops often use a random private MAC address on Wi-Fi to avoid tracking. Random addresses aren't registered to any company, so no vendor lookup can name the maker.
Can a MAC address tell me where a device is?
No. It only identifies the maker of the network hardware, and it doesn't travel beyond your local network, so websites never see it.
Share MAC Address Vendor Lookup with a friendIt runs in any browser, and they can try it without signing up.
