About PPSX to PPTX

PPSX to PPTX solves a small puzzle. A .ppsx file is a normal PowerPoint presentation saved as a show, so double-clicking it starts the slideshow straight away instead of opening the slides for editing. Some apps and upload forms also refuse it. Converting it gives you an ordinary .pptx.

Only the file type changes. The slides, animations, transitions, speaker notes and embedded media stay exactly as they were, so there's nothing to check afterwards. A macro-enabled .ppsm show becomes a .pptm with its macros kept. VIP members can convert several show files in one go.

PPSX to PPTX: questions and answers

What's the difference between PPSX and PPTX?
The content is the same. A PPSX opens straight into the slideshow, while a PPTX opens in the editor. PPSX to PPTX only switches that setting in the file.
Will PPSX to PPTX change my animations?
No. Animations, transitions, timings, notes and media are untouched, because only the file type changes. With the PPTX in hand, PowerPoint to Word can turn the slides and notes into a handout.
Can I edit a PPSX without converting it?
In desktop PowerPoint you can open it through File and Open instead of double-clicking. Converting is simpler when you're sending it on or using another app. Once it's a PPTX, PowerPoint to PDF can make a copy that opens anywhere without PowerPoint.
How many files can PPSX to PPTX handle for free?
